TL;DR: Since our private beta began, we have shipped more than 60 releases in the 0.5.x series. Thank you to everyone who tested Codex Pass and shared feedback. Our small team has limited time to send invitation codes, so starting with 0.6.0, expected this week, we are removing the invite requirement, closing the waitlist, and opening the beta to everyone.
Over the past few weeks, we have heard from you through email, Discord, and X. Thank you for taking the time to try the app, explain what went wrong, and tell us what worked and what still felt awkward. Those conversations helped us find problems we would have missed in our own setups and gave us a clearer direction for the next updates.

Invitations helped us manage the size of the private beta. But reviewing requests and sending codes also takes time. With a small team, we want to spend more of that time improving the product and responding to problems.
We therefore plan to end the waitlist when 0.6.0 ships. If you are still waiting for an invitation, you will be able to download the app and start testing without waiting for a code in your inbox.
If you are new to Codex Pass, it is a companion for Codex that lets you connect your own APIs and models in the client you already know, while continuing to use native features such as voice and image generation through your official account, where supported. We are also making configuration, usage tracking, and troubleshooting easier to use.

Here are some of the changes we have shipped recently:
- More control over official quota and your own API. You can see your ChatGPT account's quota and reset times, with separate reserves for each five-hour, weekly, or monthly window your account reports. Turn on Official first to use your official quota before switching to your configured API at the threshold you choose.
- A clearer view of usage and costs. The new usage overview lets you filter requests, tokens, and estimated costs by time, channel, model, and source. It also includes local Codex session records. API cost estimates and the reference value of official usage are shown separately, so you can understand what each source is consuming.
- Better compatibility with custom models. We have improved support for different API formats and fixed compatibility issues with newer Codex tools and screenshots on some AI gateways, reducing surprises after you connect a provider.
- Smoother sharing and remote access. Conversations are easier to search, and mobile layouts are easier to read and use. Each remote conversation keeps its own unsent draft. When a message fails to send, its text and images stay in the composer so you can edit and retry.
- More useful Skills and configuration diagnostics. Doctor shows which Skills Codex actually loads, flags descriptions that may pull a Skill into unrelated tasks, and lets you disable or restore it. Interrupted configuration writes and conflicts now come with clearer recovery information.
- A choice between the local edition and Cloud. Choose an edition based on whether you need cloud collaboration, and check its license status in Settings. The local edition works with your own AI gateway or official account; cloud features such as sharing and remote access depend on your edition and plan.
- Continued improvements to everyday use. We have reorganized navigation and settings, improved readability in narrow windows, added eight color palettes, and made update connection delays and retries easier to understand. If the interface stops responding, you can recover it from the native menu while background services keep running.
These changes have been arriving throughout 0.5.x. With 0.6.0, more people will be able to join the beta.

The website has a new look, and you can try the interface in your browser.
Alongside the app, we recently updated cp.dev. The new website explains personal use and team collaboration through more concrete examples of model connections, configuration, usage, and troubleshooting.
We also added interactive demos for both editions. You can explore official accounts and APIs, quota, models, Codex configuration, and Skills, or look through team memory, sharing, remote access, and task management. You can get a feel for how Codex Pass works before downloading it.

Join us on Discord.
We would also like to bring more of these conversations together. Join the Codex Pass Discord community at discord.gg/cpdev to exchange tips, suggest improvements, or work through a problem with us.
We will keep fixing bugs and improving the experience throughout the open beta. If something goes wrong, tell us on Discord, or continue to reach out through email or X. Your platform, app version, and steps to reproduce the issue will help us investigate.
Thank you to everyone who has joined the private beta, and to everyone still on the waitlist. Update, October 13, 2026: Download Codex Pass 0.6.0 now, without an invitation.
